Worldsmart Retail provides a unique solution for multi-store operations through the Group Controller System.
The Group Controller is a multi-user system for multiple store environments based upon the Windows operating system. Group Controller provides a management system for the Store Group at the leading edge of technology.
The Group Controller system provides complete control for the multi-store group. Features include:
- Allows for multiple suppliers and multiple costs for individual products
- Caters for multiple pricing range and promotions at each store

Some of the components within Group Controller include;
Promotions Management
As part of Group Controller, Promotions Management allows the retailer to compile and monitor the performance of a range of promotional activity. Individual promotions can be built for certain date ranges and sets of stores, with sales performance being reported on after gathering scan data from the store systems.
Rebate Management
Managing rebates from suppliers can be a laborious part of the multi store group’s operation and managing them efficiently is of utmost importance. The Rebates Manager module within Group Controller allows the Retailer to create rebate sets based on products and agreed rebate amounts with the supplier. Once the rebate set is created, performance can be measured using scan data from the store and invoices can be issued to the supplier during or at completion of the rebate set time period.
Margin Management
The Margin Management module within Group Controller allows for offline modelling of product sell pricing across groups of products. What if calculations can be performed on whole supplier or categories of product by utilising projected sales based on scan data. Models can then be applied to the Group Controller database.
Customer Management
Customer Loyalty and Debtor modules installed at store level can be controlled at Head Office level. The multi store group can then gain a fuller understanding of where the most loyal and profitable customers are located and what their spending habits are.
Offer Management
As part of Group Controller, Offer Management allows the retailer to create multiple sets of Offers that can be downloaded to individual stores. These Offer sets (eg; 2 for 1 or 2 for a set $ amount), give the retailer the ultimate in supplier negotiations and execution of promotions in store.
Host Processing
Group Controller allows the retailer to reduce the amount of host processing required at store level. Group Controller can receive, automatically edit and set region specific pricing before being passed down to store level. Not only does this give greater control to the retailer, it also reduces costs as the group need only receive the one host file. In addition to this, Group Controller can send multiple hosts at anytime to any store within the group.
Integrated Communication
Group Controller has the ability to use either FTP or dial up communications. When using dial up, Group Controller relies on Procomm software for file transfers which is then processed internally by the Worldsmart Retail developed FileQ software. This results in faster and more reliable communications from Head Office each individual site.
Reporting
Group Controller provides for comprehensive reporting across all stores. These reports can be created for an individual store or alternatively the retailer can choose to group the stores into one. Reports can be run across any department sales data from the stores giving the retailer the opportunity to review a myriad of different reports when and how they want to. Reports can be generated down to the transaction level giving retailers the ultimate in control of their stores.
Scale Management
Scale Manager provides for interfaces to in store printing scales such as those used in the deli, meat or bakery departments of a supermarket. All aspects of the deli, meat or bakery product details can be maintained within the Grocery Controller system and transmitted to the store whenever changes are made. This ensures the integrity of the information between Group Controller and the printing scale.
